What are oncological surgical procedures?
- Oncological surgical procedures range from classic open surgery to minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopy, robotic surgery) and combined procedures such as cytoreduction with HIPEC or PIPAC, depending on tumor location and extent.
- Their main purpose is to completely eliminate cancer when possible or, in advanced cases, to maximally reduce the disease, relieve symptoms, and allow more effective administration of other oncological treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy).
- At Quenet-Torrent Institute, these procedures are planned in a multidisciplinary environment and performed in specialized units for complex oncological resections, salvage surgery, and surgery with vascular reconstruction, which makes it possible to operate more safely on some very advanced tumors.
