Treatment of advanced cancer in a 73-year-old patient
This is the case of Rosario (Charo), a 73-year-old woman who was diagnosed with advanced gynaecological cancer, in the form of peritoneal carcinomatosis. Despite the complexity of the diagnosis and her age, the medical team designed a treatment plan adapted to her case.
Her treatment began with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, a treatment administered before surgery with the goal of reducing the size of the tumour and improving the chances of surgical success.
Subsequently, Rosario underwent highly complex oncological surgery performed by Drs. François Quenet and Juan José Torrent. The surgery removed the entire tumour with adequate oncological margins.
After chemotherapy and surgery, Rosario has a good quality of life. She is currently in routine oncological follow-up and her check-ups are favourable.
